Cardiopulmonary Services employs approximately 15 professional staff who serve patients by providing a wide range of respiratory therapies. Respiratory care professional also provide technical support to physicians and other healthcare staff associated with Barrow Regional Medical Center.
The Cardiopulmonary Services Department provides around the clock respiratory care at Barrow Regional Medical Center through a variety of therapies.
Inpatient Services
Respiratory Care Professionals provide services 24 hours a day and perform the following procedures as order by physicians.
- Airway and Ventilator Management
- Arterial Puncture and Analysis
- Nebulization Therapy
- Bronchopulmonary Hygiene
- Pulse Oximetry Studies
- Use and Care of Metered Dose Inhalers
- Complete Pulmonary Function Studies

Outpatient Services
Physicians may order testing on an outpatient basis to aid them in the diagnosis and treament of their patients. At Barrow Regional Medical Center, we are pleased to offer the following outpatient services through our Cardiopumonary Services Department.
- Completer Pulmonary Function Testing
- Methacholine Challenge
- Holter monitoring
- Event monitoring

- Arterial Blood Gas Puncture and Analysis
