Medical Surgical Unit
Barrow Regional Medical Center maintains a 34-bed Medical Surgical unit. The average length of stay is 3-7 days. Care includes medical and surgical with concentrations in orthopaedic and general surgery. A combination of RNs, LPNs, CNAs provide care.
Charge nurses coordinate and monitor patient care and delivery. Integrated disciplines of RNs, LPNs and CNAs also provide ongoing patient care. A unit secretary is available to answer phones, maintain records and physician orders everyday.
BCLS certification is required and ACLS and PALS are encouraged.
