Intensive Care Unit
Barrow Regional Medical Center maintains a six-bed Intensive Care Unit, serving adult patients. Core staffing includes two nurses and a monitor tech, with supplemental staff added as needed according to patient acuity. The average length of stay is 3-5 days.
In our ICU, critically ill patients are provided with constant multidisciplinary assessment and intervention in order to restore stability and prevent complications. Capable nurses, skilled physicians and state-of-the-art equipment combine to afford optimum patient outcomes. Special certifications are encouraged, and maintained by key nursing staff members. In addition, all ICU nurses are required to attend basic nursing and ICU skills competency training annually and remain current in ACLS. Certifications are encouraged.
The Director of the Intensive Care Unit is Linda Glazier, RN.
