Food & Nutrition Servcies Services

Barrow Regional Medical Center has Registered Dietitians on staff to care for inpatients and provie outpatient nutritional counseling. A referral form from a physician is needed for outpatient nutrition counseling. The Food & Nutrition Services staff provides three daily meals to patients, and also operates the cafeteria for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week.

Diabetes IS a problem in our community. Barrow Regional Medical Center and its healthcare partners offer free education and health classes to help you and your loved ones live a healthy lifestyle with diabetes, and how to help prevent diabetes for those with a family history.

How to manage your lifestyle with diabetes, taught by a certified Diabetes Educator

  • hypertension (high blood pressure)

Short term health problems include:
  • thirst, frequent urination
  • weakness
  • lack of ability to concentrate
  • loss of coordination
  • blurred vision
  • loss of consciousness (extreme cases)
